What’s MindStorms?
Constructopedia 1.0

PilotWelcome

Here’s What’s New

bulletMario and Giulio Ferrari, who are something of Lego MindStorms gods, have written a new book on building Lego MindStorms robots. It looks wonderful—there is information on Mario’s Web site (via the link above), or you can view more detail (or order it, if you’re so inclined) at the publisher’s (Syngress) Web site. It’s a whopping 656 pages, and it covers basic construction as well as advanced topics such as:  Designing Chassis, Modularity, and Load; Building Pneumatic Systems; Configuring Gearboxes; Adding RCX Ports; Finding and Grabbing Objects; Building Navigation Systems; and Building Robots that Walk.
bulletThe long-lost page 32 of the Constructopedia 1.0 has been re-scanned and posted.
bulletSlide Shows are now being used to present “The Robot Diaries.”

Go beyond the Lego programming interface with NQC and the RCX Control Centerwithout needing to know an advanced programming language. This site includes the RCXCC, as well as an excellent NQC tutorial. You may also want to visit Dave Baum’s NQC Site (Dave is the creator of NQC).

Mario Ferrari’s Lego MindStorms projects are so good they make me feel like I am unworthy of MindStorms and should go back to playing with Duplo. Visit his Lego Web site, which has many of his creations well-documented, including a tic-tac-toe playing robot, and a conductor-keyboardist musical performance pair.
